Residencies for renowned sculptors in magnificent Todi, Italy

Todi Arts Studio at Villa Zefiro (the “Association”) provides residencies to established and globally respected sculptors, giving them a quiet place to work on a new project or idea or simply to be inspired by the beauty and tranquility of the Umbrian countryside and the magnificent hill town of Todi. Along with the Fondazione Progetti Beverly Pepper founded by the artist in Todi in 2018, the Association contributes to the cultural life of Todi and enhances Todi’s standing as an internationally important destination for those who love sculpture. The Association is led by Artistic Director and celebrated sculptor Mark Mennin.

Sculptors are invited by the board (invitation only, no applications) to be in residence for a period of one to three months. Residencies are typically held during the months of June through October. The Association provides a living stipend to the resident sculptors.

Each resident sculptor also agrees to participate in up to two educational programs or presentations arranged by the Association and the Fondazione Progetti Beverly Pepper.

Todi Arts Studio is supported by the city of Todi and by an American 501(c)(3), the American Friends of Todi Arts Studio.

Statement From the Artistic Director, Mark Mennin

The Todi Arts Studio allows accomplished, hand-working sculptors from across the globe to have a concentrated time to work in their media, in an environment void of uninvited interruptions, while having productive interactions with other studio residents.

Umbria is flush with opportunities to found metal, fire clay, carve stone and wood, or weld. The studio is equipped for most of these media, with larger scaled capabilities within short travel range.

The profile of a Todi Arts Studio resident is as follows: an accomplished, self-sufficient sculptor with a lifetime of investigating material and craft, independent in their labor, as there are no accommodations for assistants.

We are an independent organization proud of our relationships with the Fondazione Progetti Beverly Pepper in Todi and with the city of Todi itself.
